GCTF Initiatives 2016-2017

In 2016-2017, GCTF Members have launched two initiatives, the Strategic Communications Initiative, co-led by Switzerland and the United Kingdom, under the auspices of the CVE Working Group, and the Soft Target Protection Initiative, co-led by Turkey and the United States. 

The Strategic Communications Initiative developed the Zurich‐London Recommendations on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism and Terrorism Online, while the Soft Target Protection Initiative produced the Antalya Memorandum on the Protection of Soft Targets in a Counterterrorism Context. Both documents were adopted at the Eighth Ministerial Plenary Meeting, held in September 2017, in New York.
