NEW YORK - United States - Egypt and the European Union (EU), Co-Chairs of the GCTF Capacity-Building in the East Africa Region (EA) Working Group organized a high-level side event on the margins of the UN General Assembly week, jointly with jointly with the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) and its Counter-Terrorism Centre (UNCTC).

NEW YORK - United States - The Side Event, hosted by Jordan and the United States, Co-Chairs of the FTF Working Group, aims to focus on the threat and challenges posed by FTF detainees and families in northeast Syria, the experiences and lessons learned by countries that have repatriated FTFs and/or families, including spouses and children, and the resources available to help countries address these challenges. 

The review meeting was organized by the GCTF Criminal Justice and Rule of Law (CJ-ROL) Working Group Co-Chairs, Nigeria and Switzerland.

JAKARTA - Indonesia - The Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Working Group Co-Chairs, Australia and Indonesia hosted a Workshop on Counter and Alternative Narratives in Jakarta, Indonesia on 24-25 June 2019. 

BERLIN - Germany - Germany organized the workshop under the auspices of the GCTF Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTF) Working Group in collaboration with the Co-Chairs of the Capacity-Building in the West Africa (WA) Region Working Group, Algeria and Canada, and INTERPOL.

MALAGA - Spain - The Plenary Meeting of the Foreign Terrorist Fighters Working Group was hosted by Working Group Co-Chairs, Jordan and the United States. 

THE HAGUE - the Netherlands - the Workshop on CVE Challenges of Returning Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTFs) and their Families was hosted by CVE Working Group Co-Chairs, Australia and Indonesia.

NAIROBI - Kenya - The Second Plenary Meeting of the Capacity-Building in the East Africa Region Working Group was hosted by Working Group Co-Chairs, Egypt and the European Union.

VALLETTA - Malta - The Second Expert Meeting on the Development of a Memorandum on the Use of Rule of Law-Based Administrative Measures in a Counterterrorism Context was hosted by CJ-RoL Working Group Co-Chairs, Nigeria and Switzerland.
